New social housing completed in Nerang

This month I inspected the finishing touches on a new social housing complex we’re building in Nerang.

This 12-unit complex is close to public transport and services.

It’s one of many projects across the state we are delivering as part of our record $5 billion investment in social and affordable housing.

Intersection Upgrade!

Ferry St and Nerang St intersection is getting an upgrade!

This nearly $2 million is funded by the Queensland Government which will include works to reduce the bottles neck and make merging easier and more accessible for pedestrians.

I caught up with Peter Young Division 5 to share the good news after he had also advocated for this.

Meeting front line services

It was great to meet the team at the Gold Coast Housing Services Centre this month who do an amazing job ensuring Queenslander’s have secure housing.

I also sat down with homelessness service providers who we are providing funding to or partner with to hear their views and discuss innovative solutions to get more people into safe homes.

Over 60,000 trips On Demand!

On Demand Transport has had more than 60,000 trips in less than a year!

This 2 year trial was an election commitment I made to try and improve transport services in our community.
