The new Coomera Hospital is one step closer to reality.

This month we awarded Multiplex Constructions as the managing contractor for stage one of the $1.3 billion new Coomera Hospital.

The new hospital will deliver 404 new beds, including surgical, medical, ambulatory, birthing suites, sub-acute and mental health inpatient beds to the community.  

It’s only the Palaszczuk Government that committed to building a new hospital in Coomera, and this announcement means we are closer to delivering more healthcare closer to home.

Cost of living relief!

This month I’ve been out door knocking, talking with locals about the State Budget’s focus on easing national cost of living pressures – here’s what it means for you:

🏠$5 billion investment in social and affordable housing.

⚡$550 Cost of Living Rebate for all Queensland households.

🎒Free Kindy for every Queensland family.

🍞$2.7 million to expand the school breakfast program over two years.

💵Over $8.2 billion in 2023–24 in concessions and rebates for Queenslanders to help with cost of living.

📚$2.1 billion infrastructure investment for Queensland schools in 2023-24 alone.

🚘Funding to deliver the Coomera Connector.

🏥 $24.2 billion for health, prioritising frontline services and addressing barriers to health care.

This budget sets up Queensland for a strong future and is only possible because we own our public assets.

Project Booyah Graduation

Congratulations to these young men.

They’ve just completed our award winning Project Booyah - Queensland Police Service (QPS) led early intervention and community inclusive program, targeting at risk or disconnected young people and seeks to address their disengagement with family, community and education, and reduce offending and victimisation.

These are the sort of programs that make long term meaningful change.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, prevention and support is always better than dealing with the consequences much later in life.

We owe it to the community and we owe it to these young people.

Congratulations to these young men. A culmination of a lot of hard work over the 16 week course.

Nerang Neighbourhood Centre
