- Construction is well underway on new social housing units in Pimpama to help house more Queenslanders
- The $5.61 million complex will provide secure accommodation for 18 Gold Coast households when they need it most
- It comes as Housing Minister Meaghan Scanlon meets with Gold Coast housing and homelessness service providers today.
Construction is advancing on a new social housing project in Pimpama to help Queenslanders get a secure roof over their head.
The 14 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom unit complex being delivered by the Palaszczuk Government and will provide housing for 18 Gold Coast households.
These will join the more than 5,000 social homes already on the Gold Coast, including recently completed projects at Southport, Nerang and Varsity Lakes.
It’s part of a record $3.9 billion for social and affordable housing, the largest concentrated investment in Queensland’s history, to help deliver over 13,000 homes by June 2027.
The Pimpama social housing units are forecast to be completed in September, with people to begin moving in shortly after.
